⚡ GLOWMAX™ Ginger & Apple Neon Shots: The Brightest Thing You'll Ever Drink

By John Nickolls, Head of Homemade HGV-Friendly Health Hooch

🍊 Forget subtlety. This one glows.

Ever looked at a health shot and thought, “You know what this needs? More nuclear fallout vibes.” No? Well, now you will.

Introducing my GLOWMAX™ Ginger & Apple Shots, made with love, a lot of ginger, and just enough orange food dye to violate local council lighting regulations. It's not just a drink – it's a high-vis experience.

🔬 Why I Made This

Look, I love ginger. I love apple. I love drinks that slap me round the face like a hungover Sunday on Cannock Chase. But the problem? Most “wellness shots” look like stagnant pond water.

So I grabbed my Ninja Soup Maker, cranked the brightness dial to 11 (figuratively), and made something that glows brighter than the Wildwood Pub’s fire exit sign. And yes, it tastes as intense as it looks.

🛒 Ingredients (Makes 1 Litre of Liquid Brilliance)

  • 200g fresh ginger root (peeled and chopped)

  • 200g carrots (peeled, chopped)

  • 2 Golden Delicious apples (cored and chopped)

  • 300ml orange juice (cloudy or smooth, your choice)

  • 50ml lemon juice

  • 2 tsp turmeric powder

  • ½ tsp sweet paprika

  • A pinch of black pepper

  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional – depends how brave you are)

  • 100ml cold water

  • 5–10 drops neon orange food dye

  • ⅛ tsp baking soda (for fizz & colour enhancement – science!)

🧪 Method – Let There Be Light

  1. Throw everything into your Ninja Soup Maker (apart from the dye and baking soda).

  2. Hit Cold Blend / Smoothie mode and let it blitz for 2 full minutes.

  3. Add your orange food dye – start with 5 drops, add more until it looks like you’re bottling sunlight.

  4. Stir in the baking soda. You’ll see it fizz a little – that’s the colour magic kicking in.

  5. Optional: strain through a sieve if you like your shots silky smooth.

  6. Chill, pour, and marvel at your creation glowing in the fridge like a radioactive Fanta.
