Bacon, Egg & Oaty Yoghurt Bomb

🥓🍞

Bacon, Egg & Oaty Yoghurt Bomb

“The Breakfast Loaf That Changed Brunch Forever”

From the hallowed crumb-laden depths of the Panasonic SD-PN100KXC Mini Breadmaker emerges a loaf so powerful, so emotional, so stupidly delicious — it deserves its own series on Netflix. And maybe a commemorative stamp. Or a folk song. This is that loaf.

🍽️

Why This Loaf Exists

Because toast is tired. Because fry-ups are fiddly. And because you, brave reader, own a mini breadmaker and a big ol’ breakfast-loving heart. This loaf is the answer to, “What if a full English and a bakery fell in love and moved into a campervan named Vanilla?”

🧺 Ingredients (for your 450g MINI)

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 medium egg (beaten) – 50g

  • 100g cinnamon yoghurt

  • 80ml milk (adjust so total wet = 180ml inc. yoghurt and egg)

  • 15g melted butter

Dry Ingredients

  • 225g strong white bread flour

  • 25g rolled oats

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • Optional: pinch smoked paprika or dried chives

Yeast

  • 1 tsp dried active yeast (or ¾ tsp fast action)

Add-ins (post-beep or dispenser)

  • 2 rashers crispy streaky bacon, chopped

  • Extra tsp oats (for top, if your machine tolerates toppings)

⚙️

How To Load It Up

  1. Liquid First: Crack your egg into a jug, whisk it with yoghurt and top up with milk to 180ml. Pour into bread pan with melted butter.

  2. Then the Dry: Flour, oats, salt, sugar, pepper, and extras. Pile it all in. Make a little yeast nest at the top.

  3. Yeast Last: Always. It’s the law. Sprinkle into its dry bed like a tiny bready burial.

  4. Fire Up the Mini: Use Basic or Soft setting. Medium crust works best. When the add-in beep comes, toss in bacon bits. Let Vanilla waft with the scent of smoky joy.

  5. Cool & Admire: Once baked, let it cool before slicing. Or don’t. Just eat it over the sink with tears in your eyes and bacon in your beard.

🧠 Why It Works (Science-ish)

  • Egg: Binds, enriches, and gives bounce.

  • Cinnamon Yoghurt: Adds moisture, tang, and that “what is that??” moment.

  • Oats: Heartiness and texture, like porridge but far sexier.

  • Bacon: Because bacon. Don’t overthink it.

🧁 Serving Suggestions

  • Slather in butter and honey.

  • Toast slices and serve with poached egg and chilli jam.

  • Air-fry a wedge and serve under grated cheese. Yes, really.

💌 Final Thoughts:

There are loaves you bake, and loaves you feel. This is one of the latter. It doesn’t ask for applause, just appreciation. Like a 90s indie track or your mate who always brings real butter on camping trips.

And now…

🥲 A Poem for the Loaf:

“Ode to the Oaty Bomb”

A golden crown, a breakfast hymn,

With bacon bold and yoghurt trim,

You rose from dough in silence bright,

And filled my van with morning light.

O bread divine, both soft and dense,

You’ve battered every line of sense.

For in your crumb, both crisp and true,

I found a breakfast born anew.

Would you like a new poster to match this glorified loaf of greatness?
